Weekend update

You will have a sub on Monday.  Periods 1 and 2 - you already have your groups.  Period 4 - you will get yours tomorrow.  You will have a reading quiz over Rome (republic and empire) basics as a quick review for your test Tuesday.

Monday class schedule:

        - 10 Main Ideas/Need to know concepts from your section
        - 1 evidence point for each concept

Tuesday Test:
40 Multiple choice questions
1 Comparison essay
Over Material from Chapters 1-5 in textbook (remember, you had packets to replace some of those chapters)
            Be ready to go as soon as the bell rings.  You have only 30 minutes for each section.

Today we investigated Indian society and Hinduism.  Tomorrow we will continue with Buddhism.

Homework:
1.  Eastern Philosophies worksheet is due Thursday.  Do the Chinese philosophies tonight and Buddhism tomorrow.
2.  Continue work on you RVC Comparison paper.

No Chapter 4 reading!  I'm going to give you chapters out of Bulliet instead tomorrow.

Today we are going over the three main Chinese philosophies of Classical China: Confucianism, Daoism, and Legalism.  We will examine the beliefs and origins of these philosophies, and then apply them to modern day situations.

Today we completed Chapter 1.  Now on to Chapter 2.  Make sure that your PIRATES are finished!

1.  Finish PIRATES chart on Egypt if you have not already done so.
2.  Bring all notecards to class tomorrow.  You do not know which RVC you will be assigned.  Better safe than sorry.
3.  All missing syllabi and Donors Choose sheets are due!  I will start to take off points for being late!
4.  Binders and dividers are due ASAP!

Today we are looking at Jared Diamond's theory.  We will read his speech, watch clips from Guns, Germs, and Steel, and discuss notecard information.

1.  Finish Diamond handout and turn in by 3 pm Friday.
2.  Binder with 8 dividers for Monday.
3.  Complete PIRATES chart on River Valley Civilization - Egypt.  You have notecards done for this--place your information on the sheet and get more from the readings.  In case you forgot what characteristics to look for, here is the intro chart that defines PIRATES and the worksheet for your assignment.
